Robots for the Future
Automated machines increasingly assist human beings in the manufacture of new products, maintenance of infrastructure throughout the world, and care of families and businesses. The robots will be able to make new highways, the construction of steel buildings, clean underground pipelines, and mowing lawns. Prototype systems to perform all these tasks already exist.
An important trend is the development of micro-electromechanical systems, in terms of size ranging from millimeters to centimeters. These tiny robots can be used to navigate through blood vessels to provide blood pressure medicine or clean blocks. They can also work inside large machines to diagnose impending mechanical problems.
Perhaps the most dramatic changes in future robots arise from their increasing ability to reason. The field of artificial intelligence is quickly moving from university laboratories to practical application in the field, and the machines are being developed that can perform cognitive tasks, such as strategic planning and learning from experience. Increasingly, the diagnosis of faults in aircraft or satellites, the management of a battlefield, or control of a large factory will be performed by intelligent computers.
its very interesting to note that robots help us to manufacture some new products.Especially for a upcoming scientist in robotics like me….
